Meet Tash
Hello, I'm Tash, the founder and heart behind Studio Tash, previously known as ‘The Loft’.
My journey into the world of Pilates and Yoga has been a long and fulfilling one, spanning over 20 years. I've dedicated my life to helping others find their inner strength and alignment, a passion that led me to create this new chapter as Studio Tash - a unique, vibrant and loving space where I can share my love for wellness in all forms with you.
When you enter a Studio Tash class or workshop, know that you are invited to be your whole, playful self. In our space, we remove all of the expectations of what mindfulness 'is'.
I promise to give you:
PEACE: Permission to hold and protect your inner peace.
LOVE: Providing a space to feel loved, and helping you find your way back to love.
LIGHTNING BOLT MOMENTS: Electric connections to yourself, others and maybe something greater than.
Come As You Are!
After a long journey, I’m going back to my roots of being a freelance wellness teacher & curator. You’ll be able to find me at Rutland Nursery (my old stomping ground), and wherever else my heart leads me.
My Pilates Journey
My adventure in Pilates began with a strong foundation in the remedial method. I was incredibly fortunate to train with Alan Herdman, a pioneer who introduced Pilates to the UK in the 1970s. Under his guidance, I developed a deep understanding of the principles and techniques that make Pilates such a powerful tool for physical and mental well-being.
Eager to expand my knowledge and embrace the classical system, I furthered my training with Bob Liekens of Power Pilates and Pilatesology. Bob's expertise and dedication to the classical method of Pilates enriched my practice and teaching style. These experiences have allowed me to enjoy a successful teaching career in London, where I've had the pleasure of combining both remedial and classical Pilates to benefit my clients.
You can now expect a Studio Tash Pilates class to be filled with fun, where you’re encouraged to be curious whilst connecting to your body. Expect some challenges, but know that you’re always supported by me and not judged by others.
Embracing Yoga
About 14 years ago, when I was pregnant with my son, my journey took an exciting turn when I discovered the Mysore Ashtanga self-practice. This form of yoga captivated me with its emphasis on personal growth and spiritual development. It quickly became a cherished part of my life, complementing my Pilates practice and adding a new dimension to my teaching.
Over the last 3 years I have run physical yoga studios in Rutland, where I have been lucky to collaborate with amazing teachers and hosts.
The Birth of Studio Tash
The vision for Studio Tash came from a desire to create classes and workshops in and around Rutland where I could bring together my extensive experience in Pilates, Yoga and silliness.
I wanted to offer a place that felt welcoming and inclusive, where everyone could discover their own superpowers. Where there is no gatekeeping or side eyes. Studio Tash is a reflection of my journey and my commitment to helping others find balance, strength, and joy in their lives.
The Teaching
My teaching philosophy is simple: Wellness should be accessible and enjoyable for everyone. I believe in a playful and inclusive approach that encourages students to explore their potential and embrace their uniqueness. Whether you're a seasoned practitioner or a complete beginner, my goal is to make sure you feel supported and empowered in your practice.
I'm thrilled to welcome you to this new Chapter, and for you to go on a new journey with me, where you can experience the transformative power of Pilates and Yoga and wellness offerings in a nurturing and supportive environment. Together, we'll embark on a journey of discovery, growth, and empowerment.
Thank you for taking the time to get to know me, and thank you to my students who have stayed by my side of each chapter. I can't wait to share my passion with you and help you unlock your inner strength!
